The Gasworks
About This Spot
Step inside The Gasworks on Perry Street and you’re welcomed by a warm, inviting atmosphere that strikes a balance between lively and laid-back—an ideal neighborhood spot where families, friends, and fellow locals effortlessly come together. The soft hum of conversation blends with the occasional cheer from the sports bar side, while cozy booths and rustic touches around the room create pockets of quiet comfort. It’s a place where pace is governed by genuine connection rather than the clock.
The Gasworks wears many hats with ease, shifting from a casual family restaurant to a spirited bar & grill, all wrapped in a friendly gastropub vibe. Whether you’re settling in for a woodfired pizza or catching a game on the big screen with a well-crafted cocktail in hand, the experience feels thoughtfully simple and intimate. The menu reflects this spirit, offering comforting flavors and generous portions that don’t hesitate to accommodate various tastes—just as the staff, who have a knack for making you feel right at home, tailor the experience to each guest’s pace and preference.
This is the kind of place where groups gather without fuss, where accommodating a few extras is never an issue, and where a family meal flows seamlessly alongside after-work catch-ups. It’s clear that behind the friendly smiles and bustling kitchen, there’s a genuine care for creating memorable moments—whether that’s a weekend roast, a quick takeaway woodfired pizza, or an evening wrapped in the hum of good company and carefully mixed drinks.
The Gasworks doesn’t aspire to be a flashy trendsetter; instead, it’s rooted in the quiet joy of local rhythms and familiar flavors, where subtle details—from triple-cooked chips to the thoughtful gluten-free pizza options—speak to an understanding of diverse palates without overwhelming the senses. It’s a bar and grill that feels less like a menu and more like a shared experience, inviting everyone at the table to feel included and well looked after.

We had a group booking of 20 people, accommodating a few extras was no problem. Service of the food was excellent & all of the food came out together which is always a bonus. No complaints at all about the quality of the food!! Staff were fantastic, friendly and couldn’t do enough for us. We were put up in the booths away from others and felt like we weren’t annoying others out for a meal etc. Would highly recommend to family & friends

Amazing food, nice cocktails, I thought the burger would be a smash burger but unfortunately it wasn't. It was still nice though! will definitely be back!

This place is ridiculously good. We recently visited for the Friday night steak deal. It was different gravy. Everything about it, from the welcome, to friendly staff and service provided, and the food was incredibly tasty. The steak on a stone is a brilliant idea. It was that good we came back on the Sunday for the carvery. The brisket was absolutely delicious. We have made this a regular Sunday treat with the family to give me a day away from the cooking. Lol. If you haven't visited the Gasworks, you are seriously missing out. Get booked in. You will not regret it!!

Stopped in with the family for tea yesterday. Super friendly staff, fantastic food and a great atmosphere. Definitely on the list for a return visit. Highly recommended. Thank you all staff for making the kids feel at ease. (The Gasser burger photographed.)

Nice atmosphere and excellent decor. Shannon our server was great, very friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu. The Gluten-free pizza bases are full-size and better than most but wasn't so keen on the vegan-mozzarella. The "Pulled Porko" was good but their Triple cooked chips (fries for our American friends) sealed the deal. Will be back next time I'm passing.

Food was great! My gluten free friend was over the moon too. Service was with a smile and very fast. Cool and cooky surroundings. Would definitely go again if we are in the area
